This is 100% cotton at 40 weight, 3 ply, dyed so the color changes every 1 to 2 inches. Each spool holds 600 meters (656 yards).

That short repeat is the whole point. It gives you a strong variegated effect over a small area, so the shift still shows up in tight quilting patterns and short decorative runs — and across a large fill you get movement over the whole piece without ever changing thread.

It's highly mercerized, which keeps lint down and is also what gives the colors their brilliance. Works for machine and hand quilting as well as decorative stitching. Available in 15 variegated combinations.
