Crochet a Peep Bunny

Crochet a Peep Bunny

This adorable Peep Bunny is a quick and easy project, perfect for gifting or spring decor. Because it is worked from the ears down, it is a completely no-sew pattern. Using our chunky chenille yarn gives it a soft, plush feel.

Materials Needed

  • ThreadArt Chenille Yarn (One skein per bunny)
  • 5mm crochet hook
  • 10-12mm safety eyes & nose
  • Polyfil stuffing
  • Scissors
  • Crochet Needle

Instructions:

The Ears (Make 2)

Round 1: 6 sc in mc (6). Round 2: (sc, inc) x 3 (9). Round 3: (2sc, inc) x 3 (12). Rounds 4–8: 5 rounds of sc (12). Round 9: (2 sc, dec) x 3 (9).

Note: Fasten off the first ear, leaving a long tail to close the hole later. Do not fasten off the second ear; you will continue directly into the head.

Head

Connect the second ear to the first ear with a single crochet. This stitch counts as your first sc for the next round.

Round 10: sc around both ears (18). Use the yarn tail from the first ear to close the gap between them. Round 11: (2 sc, inc) x 6 (24). Round 12: (3 sc, inc) x 6 (30). Rounds 13–15: 3 rounds of sc (30). Round 16: (3 sc, dec) x 6 (24). Round 17: sc around (24). Round 18: (2 sc, dec) x 6 (18).

Face Placement: Attach safety eyes between rounds 14 and 15, leaving 4 visible stitches between them. Attach the nose between rounds 15 and 16, centered below the eyes. Stuff the ears and head now.

Body

Round 19: (2 sc, inc) x 6 (24). Round 20: (3 sc, inc) x 6 (30). Round 21: (4 sc, inc) x 6 (36). Rounds 22–27: 6 rounds of sc (36). Round 28: (4 sc, dec) x 6 (30). Round 29: (3 sc, dec) x 6 (24). Round 30: (2 sc, dec) x 6 (18).

Final Stuffing: Fill the body with polyfil. Round 31: (sc, dec) x 6 (12). Round 32: dec x 6 (6). Finish stuffing as needed, then fasten off and weave in your ends.
